Confluence is the latest retail outlet at Taos Ski Valley, Inc. Here we celebrate the convergence of cultures at the base of New Mexico’s premier ski resort with an assortment of gifts, home goods, souvenirs, and apparel . Part of Resort Services family, Confluence will share management, operational support and staffing with Taos Sports retail and rental outlets .

The Confluence Lead Sales Associate will establish Taos Ski Valley Inc.’s newest retail outlet as the premier destination for finer gifts and souvenirs in northern New Mexico.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively work the Retail floor , engaging customers and staff to accomplish vision and goals .
  • Lead by example with world-class customer service .
  • Managing hundreds of g uests in a short period of time .
  • Resolving issues quickly and effici ently for the guest and company .
  • Lead your team to cleanliness, attention to detail and organizati onal excellence .
  • Track and validate all daily cleaning, stocking, and organizational duties .
  • Maintain staff breaks and lunch schedule .
  • Attend and engage in trainings for professional development .
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays .
  • Other duties as assigned .

Qualifications /Knowledge

  • 2 years retail or related experience
  • Knowledge of regional cultures, crafts and artistic styles preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred .
  • Retail point-of-sale and inventory management software experience preferred.
  • Understanding of retail math preferred but not required .
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple functions simultaneously in a high-pressure environment and on strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrates exper ience appropriately handling differences, both internally and/or with guests.
  • Ability to review financial information for accuracy and identify problem areas.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends , holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require moving on uneven, snow packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions. Travel may be required during trade shows.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

50 % of time spent sitting at a computer or POS. 25-50 % of time spent standing/walking. 10-25% of time spent moving objects – o ften lifting 10-25lbs, rarely up to 50lbs , and using a dolly.

Background Check

Positions dealing with children, of safety sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
