Edge of Bliss Candidate Safety Guide
Effective Date: September 21, 2025
Audience: Job Seekers (18+) Using Edge of Bliss Worldwide
Purpose & Promise
Your safety comes first. This guide explains how to spot scams, protect your information, and use Edge of Bliss features to keep your search secure. It complements our Terms of Service, Community Standards, and Privacy Policy.
TL;DR (Read This First)
- Never pay to apply, interview, or get equipment.
- Only engage employers who link to a live Edge of Bliss job post. Ask for the EoB job URL.
- Don’t share SSN, bank details, or IDs until after a legitimate, written offer and only via the employer’s secure portal.
- Be suspicious of urgent, too-good-to-be-true offers, gift card requests, checks to deposit, or equipment purchases.
- Report anything sketchy via the in-product Report buttons or email support@edgeofbliss.com (subject: “Safety”). For Copyright/IP, email dmca@edgeofbliss.com.
1) Golden Rules of Safe Job Search
- Jobs don’t require payment. Legit employers don’t ask candidates to pay for applications, “setup,” training, or equipment.
- Keep conversations on-platform until you verify. Per Edge of Bliss rules, employers should include the EoB job URL and have a paid employer plan to contact you.
- Verify the employer and the role. Check the company website, domain, and whether the role is really posted on Edge of Bliss.
- Protect your identifiers. No SSN, passport, driver’s license, birth date, or bank info before you have a bona fide offer and are inside the employer’s secure HR portal.
- Slow down. Scammers push urgency. Take 5 minutes to verify links, domains, and job details.
- Trust your gut. If anything feels off, stop and report it.
2) Before You Apply: Quick Checklist
- Role clarity: Title, duties, location/remote status, employment type, salary range (where required), and real company info.
- Verify presence on Edge of Bliss: Ask for or click the EoB job URL.
- Company domain: Email should match company domain (not webmail). Slight misspellings are a red flag.
- ATS routing: If they route you to an ATS, ensure it matches the company and shows a privacy notice at data entry.
Resume hygiene:
- Remove overly sensitive data (SSN, full DOB, full home address—city/region is fine).
- Consider using a job-search email address and a VoIP number that you control.
3) During Applications & Messages
What’s safe to share early:
- Role-relevant contact info (email/phone), city/region, work elgibility (general), portfolio links, Edge of Bliss profile.
What to withhold until offer stage (or later):
- SSN, full DOB, scans of IDs, bank info, ful home address, security answers, MFA codes.
Red flags in messages::
- No Edge of Bliss job URL; “We found you and can start tomorrow—send your SSN now.”
- Off-platform move before verifying the job (WhatsApp/Telegram) and pressure to act immediately.
- Requests for money, gift cards, crypto, or “we’ll send you a check to buy equipment.”
Template: Ask for Verification
“Thanks for reaching out. To proceed, please share the Edge of Bliss job URL for the role and confirm your company email/domain. I keep initial conversations on Edge of Bliss until the role is verified.”
4) Interviews & Work Samples—Do’s and Don’ts
- Do confirm interview logistics (names, roles, calendar invites from company domain).
- Do limit “home assignments” to reasonable scope (2-4 hours).
- Don’t deliver production-ready work for free or share proprietary code/data. Ask for a short, scoped exercise or paid trial where appropriate.
- Do ask for an NDA if they request confidential materials.
Template: Boundaries for Take-Home
“I’m happy to complete a short exercise (under 3 hours). If you need something larger or production-ready, could we convert that to a paid pilot or discuss scope?”
5) Offers, Onboarding & Background Checks
- Offer letter first. Background checks and ID collection typically occur after a written offer (and acceptance).
- Vendor legitimacy. Checks should be run through known background-screening providers with clear disclosures and consent forms.
- I-9/Tax forms. In the U.S., you’ll complete I-9/W-4 after hire and only via secure employer systems.
- Equipment. Employers ship equipment or reimburse through standard payroll/AP—you should not front money.
Template: Decline Early SSN/Bank Request
“For security, I only share SSN or bank information after a formal offer and within your secure HR portal. Happy to proceed once we reach that step.”
6) Virtual Job Fairs (All Edge of Bliss Events)
- Booth authenticity: Exhibitors should link to matching Edge of Bliss job posts. Ask for the job URL.
- Chat & DMs: Keep it professional; avoid sharing IDs or financial data in event chat.
- Off-platform moves: Only after verifying the role and by your choice.
- Report quickly: Use the event’s Report button or email support@edgeofbliss.com if a booth asks for fees, gift cards, or personal IDs.

“For safety, let’s continue here until I’ve reviewed the Edge of Bliss posting and verified details.”
