Richmond, VA Position:Territory Sales Representative

Daily duties and responsibilities:

Expectations of a Territory Sales Representative include supporting new and existing customers with sales and service requests, actively increase customer base by prospecting, follow up and quotation of company supplied sales leads as well as customer account management. The Sales Representative will own a territory quota for annual sales for the Richmond, VA area.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Face to face visits to current and prospective customers; set-up and perform demonstrations/presentations and participate in seminars/trade shows.
  • Cold calling prospects and fielding incoming sales and service requests.
  • Gathering and organizing of technical information from prospective customers.
  • Drive new product introductions via presentations, training, seminars, key account visits and any other events which may be appropriate.
  • Responsible for developing specific account and territory strategies while promoting the sale of company products and services within the territory.
  • Cultivating long-term relationships with the appropriate key account decision makers.
  • Creation of winning technical sales/service proposals.
  • Use of Customer Relations Management (CRM) software to collect and record customer contact information and manage sales opportunities/campaigns.
  • Functions as a liaison to the company, aware of customer and competitor’s conditions that may affect the business/market. These conditions may include customer financial stability and/or growth/reduction and knowledge of our competition, including their products, capabilities, and activity.
  • Provides management with suggestions for improving volume, market share and price levels.


Experience and Skills:

A minimum of two years’ sales experience is required (industrial sales experience is a plus). The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer relationship aptitude, be highly professional, have a technical aptitude and strong selling skills.
