A food broker with 40 years based in Southern California is looking for an experienced sales professional to assume the lead role targeting fresh sales to supermarkets, primarily in the service bakery and deli. We are looking for a high-performing Sales Manager to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximizing our sales team’s potential, crafting sales plans and justifying those to plans to the upper management. A passion for food (a foodie) is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Present sales, revenue, and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

Experience and an understanding of the community are important. This individual will have the benefit of working with an exceptional team of seasoned professionals. The ability to balance the demands of managing multiple product lines and customers is a must. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and able to work individually or with a team.

Requirements:

  • Must be based in Central Valley, CA
  • Proven work experience in the food industry as a sales representative
  • Ability to build strong client relationships to maintain existing business, as well as acquire new customers
  • Collaboration with principal contacts to identify and grow opportunities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs – Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
