Position Summary:

Responsible for soliciting group business for all market segments to meet and/or exceed revenue goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
  • Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.
  • Work with your direct manager to develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers. Help incorporate and manage sales force to sales/catering staff.
  • Utilize the marketing plan in order to uncover potential business.
  • Participate in group sales strategy, preconvention, training and other sales related meetings as required.
  • Analyze and estimate total value of each piece of business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue while ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues with most updated information.
  • Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and immediately report all unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the property Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years sales experience in a hotel environment with an emphasis on revenue generation.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Strong administrative skills, to include business writing, mathematics for basic accounting and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of forecasting sales results and analyzing results.
  • Possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence professionals and hotel guests.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage including banquets & catering.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Must be available to work some weekends and holidays, as necessary.

3-6 hours:

Sitting, Standing/Walking, Reaching, Grasping

Up to 1 hour:

Pushing/Pulling, Lifting/Carrying (up to 20 lbs.), Climbing Stairs, Crouching/Bending/Stooping
