Description:

National CPG Sales Manager

  • Develop new business opportunities and potential customers at all stages of the sales cycle including targeting, prospecting, presenting, and negotiating to generate revenue including C-level decision makers
  • Identify emerging market trends and develop a strategic solution to increase global brand awareness
  • Act as the client’s advocate during the development of solutions; work with operations and pricing groups to develop pricing and review proposals with clients to influence the decision-making process
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop long-term business propositions
  • Effectively close and manage large-scale and complex contracts
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential networking systems and potential new business relationship prospects.
  • Increase the value of current customers and client transactions by managing The Rise with Wavepoint 3pl’s customer experience
  • Generate leads by participating in sales initiatives such as cold calling, referrals, and attending trade shows and other networking events
  • Track opportunities utilizing Salesforce and manage customer base daily, including prospects, leads, and communications.
  • Provide reporting updates to internal teams and management as directed
  • Works to understand large account supply chain needs and educates internal business units on those unique needs to drive internal continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify and create initiatives to help clients improve their business processes and remove roadblocks within both Sales and Operations
  • Contribute to and maintain Standard Operating Process Documents (SOPS) and other processes performed.
  • Communicate, negotiate, and manage contractual changes with clients and collaborate with transportation/warehouse managers to address and resolve pricing issues

Requirements:

National CPG Sales Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or relevant field of study preferred
  • 7 years or more of warehouse and transportation sales experience with supported track record of success
  • 3 years or more of CPG sales with supported track record of success
  • Strong (moveable) customer base, preferably in CPG
  • Must demonstrate ability to harvest leads, market our business effectively, and close
  • Strong understanding of consultative selling and transportation modes in supply chain
  • Understanding of market pricing for warehousing and transportation
  • Demonstrates a hunter mentality, highly motivated, self-driven and persuasive personality
  • Superior verbal and written communication, data analysis techniques and supply chain interpretation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with a variety of workgroups
  • Strong leadership skills and approach to business with a proven ability to build business relationships
  • Must understand and make use of company CRM
  • Must be willing and have ability to travel at least 25% (35% – 40% in first 6 months)
