Reporting to the Sr. Manager of National Inside Sales. The Inside Sales Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring sales activities in East Coast known as region 30 and 70. Inside Sales Manager provides the highest level of customer satisfaction and will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. Must be comfortable making dozens of voice calls per day, cold calling, working with Account Managers, channel partners, manufacturer’s representatives, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and assisting in closing sales.


Core duties and responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

Customer Experience and Support

  1. Develop a strong understanding and relationships with the regional team’s assigned focused accounts including, but not limited to their procurement team, product management team, engineering teams, quality department and any other department sales deems key to growing Hirose revenue.
  1. Be the first point of contact for customer procurement team and be the face of Hirose sales portraying a professional manner and provide the highest support levels immediately.
  1. Take action to resolve with the appropriate internal department(s) as well as update the assigned outside salesperson of any service, quality or support issue immediately for follow up and resolution.
  1. Understand customer needs and requirements and partner with outside account managers in order to generate new opportunities (N and C projects) and close them.
  1. Collaborate with Customer Service Department to understand account related matters to ensure customer and account managers are updated with the latest information and be a resource to both to ensure high quality service is being driven to customers.
  1. Quickly close on actions within 24 hours or if this is not possible due to internal communications or processes, update the customer every 24 hours on progress until action is closed.

Hirose Sales Team Support and Administration

  1. Assist sales team with setting up meetings as a direct result of business conversations to ensure customer is being serviced at a high level and to also drive new design opportunities.
  1. Support Regional Sales Team with updates to Salesforce (MFC) data as requested to ensure all data is accurate including action plans, opportunity part numbers, volumes, mid-term forecasts, production and approval dates, etc.
  1. Follow-up on quoting activity to determine customer interest level and identify quickly if project acquisition strategy needs to be altered.
  1. Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls, emails, web inquiries, Buddie first buy report. Know how to route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales members (Region, BDM, and/or BDM) for further development and closure.
  1. Cooperatively assist regional sales team on closing sales and achieving annual sales targets.
  1. Team with channel partners and manufacturer’s representatives to build pipeline and close deals.
  1. Work with Tech Support to understand technical support inbound communications from customers in assigned geography and reach out to customer for follow-up and opportunity generation.
  1. Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest through available system and tools. Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory. Know to pass inside sales fully qualified leads to the outside sales organization.
  1. Submit domestic splits and track to completion and ultimately ensure revenue is being reported accurately.
  1. Work with Sales Team to create and submit ICPs (international business tracking process) and follow them to approval stage and ensure transfer business is being tracked correctly.
  1. Work with the PCN team to assist in research and communication to affected regional customers to ensure their understanding of the situation and what options are available.
  1. Assist the sales team in revenue forecasting by interfacing with customer procurement teams to understand business conditions and ensure channel pipelines are adequate.
  1. Maintain internal Sales Tracker forecasting tool monthly with information obtained from direct business conversations with customer procurement teams.
  1. Enter and track sample orders and work with sales team on either hand delivery or direct shipment to customer.
  1. Be the point of contact for expediting discussions including communication, lead time, and general product availability.

a. Customers.

c. Counterparts in Japan Corporate Office, and other subsidiaries.

d. Distributors, Manufacturing Representatives, and other business partners.

e. Sr. Operations Manager

f. Sales Operations

g. Customer Service Team

h. Product Management

i. Marketing

  1. Complete tasks per ISO9001-2008 requirements, when applicable.

  1. BA or BS Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service or inside sales within a similar environment.
  1. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and web applications.
  1. Experience using Salesforce CRM solution preferred.
  1. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  1. Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  1. Possess excellent communication skills (oral and written) in order to work with both external and internal customers. Able to clearly and concisely communicate across different cultures.
  1. Be aggressive in driving outbound voice calling by cold calling new customers and relationship building with existing customers.
  1. Ability to resolve issues and escalate in a timely fashion and to the customer’s needs.
  1. Ability to communicate in English. Japanese, a plus.
  1. Experience improving engagement within a team.
  1. Must be able to work 8:00-17:00 Eastern Time Zone.
  1. Must have internet access in case of remote working situation.
  1. Maintain a high level of retention.
  1. Basic understanding of the Electronic component industry a plus.
