Central State Bank has an immediate opening for a Commercial Banker at our Coralville, IA location.

Job Summary

As a Commercial Banker, you enjoy outside sales, are comfortable with cold calling, and are a self-starter motivated to achieve and exceed growth goals. You will actively pursue commercial lending opportunities in the market through results driven business development activities including visibility and engagement in the community. Our Commercial Bankers value forming relationships with new customers during normal business hours in addition to potential evening and weekend engagements. Our Commercial Bankers have exceptional multi-tasking skills and can manage the expectations of multiple customers and the bank at once.

Our Commercial Bankers are supported by central underwriting and commercial banking associates but have the knowledge to evaluate financial information to identify if a commercial lending opportunity will be beneficial for both the customer and the bank. Our Commercial Bankers are confident in their negotiation skills and are comfortable working with customers in all types of settings and circumstances. Depending on experience, the successful candidate may be expected to perform a leadership role.

  • Compensation includes base salary plus incentive compensation based on contribution toward bank performance and metrics.

What You’ll be Doing

  • Community Banking. You’ll commit to a holistic understanding of community banking, commercial lending, and our products and services so you can guide customers through the process efficiently and effectively.
  • Customer Management. You’ll prioritize maintaining and forming strong relationships with customers with communication that is convenient and appropriate for them inside our offices or at outside locations. You’ll evaluate how Central State Bank can support each customer by developing unique and individualized financing solutions.
  • Sales and Business Development. You’ll engage existing and prospective customers to learn about their business and vision for its growth. You’ll expand the scope of Central State Bank’s relationship with its customers by educating them on all that Central State Bank has to offer.
