As the Principal Product Manager Tech at Goodreads, you will be responsible for setting vision for and delivering on innovative improvements to the core Goodreads Experience including key areas in book discovery, tracking, community and maintaining customer trust.

You will lead a team of product managers to deeply understand the Goodreads customer and partner with engineering, UX design, and data science to define product strategy, backlog and requirements, and execute on product improvements to drive customer engagement and business value. This role requires excellent leadership skills, strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to effectively partner across Amazon, with the ability to manage high-impact solutions.

Key job responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of products by evaluating the business and competitive landscape, understanding customer needs and value drivers.
* Establish product goals and develop roadmap. Assess product development efforts, including research, requirements definition, metrics analysis, technical specifications, development, and launch efforts.
* Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences for the Goodreads community.
* Measure and analyze existing products for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to Goodreads customers.
* Manage a team of technical product managers towards delivery of customer improvements.

– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
– 10+ years of technical product or program management experience


– Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
– Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
– Experience leading community oriented products.
– Understanding of emerging disruptive technologies, like Generative AI, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
